Embarking on the realms of filmmaking, flaneurism, and media science, I ardently explore the alchemy of texture and materiality, entwined with my fascination for memories, cities, and human culture.
Jonathan Bugiel was born and raised in Berlin. After graduating he lived in Jerusalem, Rome and Bayreuth where he studied media sciences and ethnology with a focus on documentary in film, photography and games.
Continuing to approach the Alps, he worked as an editor for a Munich production company and joined the DOK.forum in 2022.
Having finally arrived in the Alps, Bugiel is now also part of the current training cycle at the ZeLIG – School for Documentary Film, Television and New Media in Bolzano. Since 2023 he is the head of production at DOK.forum.
